At Soul Dental, we believe that everyone deserves to be happy, healthy, and confident — and to rock a beautiful smile! We also believe that restoring someone’s smile can be an important and life-changing event. Dentistry is so much more than oral health. Our smiles are how we greet people and communicate how we feel. If we are lacking confidence in our smile, we may try to hide our teeth, or even stop smiling, which could cost us a job that we really want, or send mixed signals to someone we’re interested in. When you hide your smile, you hide who you are.

Soul Dental Believes in Women Supporting Women
As a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and their volunteer program, Give Back a Smile, Soul Dental’s Dr. Ali was able to brighten someone’s life with the gift of a new smile. Our patient came to us with multiple oral health issues. She had been a victim of domestic abuse during her pregnancy, which resulted in a high-risk birth. Thankfully, mom and her sweet baby are now safe and healthy.
“This work matters to me because I feel lucky to be in a position and have the skills to help someone smile,” said Dr. Ali. “I in no way feel like I HAVE to do this work, it’s quite the opposite. I’m beyond happy to help someone feel better.”

The Smile Journey and Results
We first did a deep clean of her teeth to restore her gum health. One tooth was in such bad shape that it needed to be extracted. Finally, her smile was restored with porcelain crowns and bridges courtesy of Exquisite Dental Studios.
Exquisite Dental Studios is a cosmetic dental laboratory in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. These talented technicians work hard to create a ‘masterpiece’ every time that fits perfectly. We are so thankful to the entire team for their contribution to this case.
And how does our patient feel now? The proof is in her gorgeous smile and the confidence it has given her. Truly priceless. Our patient is moving forward with her life. She has completed her associate degree and plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree. We think that’s fantastic!

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation’s (AACDCF) Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program heals some of the most devastating effects of domestic and sexual violence by restoring the smiles of adult women and men who have suffered dental injuries from a former intimate partner or spouse, family member or due to sexual assault.
